Tim Fitzgerald’s Full House

Tim Fitzgerald's Full House is a new, Chicago based, seven piece, three horn ensemble inspired by the music of jazz-great Wes Montgomery.

The band was born out of Fitzgerald’s love for and exploration of Montgomery's music. Fitzgerald spent years studying Wes’ music on record and film resulting in his book 625 Alive: The Wes Montgomery BBC Concert Transcribed, which has been acclaimed as one of the “50 Greatest Guitar Books of All Time.”

Fitzgerald then began the long process of arranging Wes’ music, not just Wes songs, but Wes chord solos and octave solos, for guitar and three horns. He also enlisted some of his favorite Chicago musicians to arrange for and play in the band including multiple Grammy nominee trumpeter Victor Garcia and Julliard alum saxophonist Chris Madsen.

Drummer George Fludas also presents a direct connection to Montgomery through performances with Wes’ brother, Buddy, and Wes’ organist Mel Rhyne. Bassist, Christian Dillingham, pianist, Tom Vaitsas, and saxophonist Brent Griffin Jr. round out this incomparable ensemble.

625 Alive: The Wes Montgomery BBC Performance Transcribed

Author of the book 625 Alive: The Wes Montgomery BBC Performance Transcribed, Tim Fitzgerald has been hailed as the "Ultimate Study of Wes Montgomery's music" (Just Jazz Guitar Magazine) and his “One of the 50 greatest guitar books of all time” (The 50 Greatest Guitar Books).

625 Alive is the only book transcribing exactly what Wes played on film. When paired with the video footage, the book provides incomparable insight into Wes' improvisations and his physical approach to the guitar.
